Many of you might not know this, but I also work a retail job as well as writing this blog. Specifically, I work at a gas station, normally working anywhere from 8-10 hours per day. I like to do my makeup usually, but sometimes it’s pointless because after working 10 hours it starts to break down and fade, especially lip products I was very excited to see if Lip Ink products held up to a full day or work, eating and drinking.

Application of Lip Ink
The application was a process, which I think is the only thing I did not like about Lip Ink. I’m so used to the apply and go lip products, that I wasn’t prepared for the extra steps. Once I read the directions it seemed far less intimidating.
You start with the “Off Solution” or towelette. Just wipe it on, it helps clean and exfoliate your lips. This was probably my favorite part of the application process. It made my lips feel so clean!
Then, you wet your lips with water and pat them dry. Then massage in the Shine Moisturizer.
Now- the fun part! Applying your color. Lip Ink comes in so many colors! I honestly couldn’t believe the selection. I chose “Blush” to try out. You can apply between 1-3 coats, depending on what sort of opacity you want. I applied three layers for maximum opacity. The actual color tingled when I applied it but it wasn’t uncomfortable.
Finally, you apply the Shine/ Moisturizer on top.
It seems like a lot of steps, especially if it is your first time. After I figured out how to apply Lip Ink it didn’t seem so bad. Were all the extra steps worth it? Absolutely!
My Thoughts
Lip Ink stays on for HOURS. I was able to go all day with no smudging and could drink out of glasses and not leave color behind. I was very impressed with it. It takes a lot to impress me, especially with lip products, so that’s saying a lot.
It also doesn’t “bunch up” or feel super heavy like other “long-lasting” lip products do. I also give them points for being a cruelty-free company.
